Bamboo the Extraordinary Fibre

More people are beginning to recognise the value of natural fibres, like bamboo. Bamboo has many uses; from robust flooring and building products, to textiles, food and medicine. The growing popularity of this extraordinary fabric can be attributed to it’s natural durability and the fact that it is also eco-friendly.

Bamboo grows up to a metre in 24 hours and within 4 years it can be harvested. Bamboo is environmentally friendly because it grows without the need for pesticides or chemicals, it causes no pollution to the environment, it is 100% bio-degradable and it can be considered an earth friendly plant.

As technology improves, we will see different types of bamboo products being created, all sorts of uses are possible in areas we have not yet thought of .

So don’t be surprised if you find yourself surrounded by bamboo products in the years to come.

For us an important fact about bamboo is it’s antibacterial properties, it is resilient to; fungi, mould, mildew and is anti-odour.
